Last night, the Wilmington City Council approved the purchase of a 6.63 acre parcel from Riverfront Holdings II, for $3.9 Million USD. The City plans to create a passive park on the land with area for gardens and room to hold large concerts and events. “It’s a historic moment,” Mayor Bill Saffo said. “The city has been looking for parkland along our riverfront for many years.”
We are excited that the City has chosen to locate their park next to our Northern Riverfront Marina & Hotel Development. This will be a draw for the area for generations to come.
