Wilmington’s northern riverfront got another boost Wednesday as a Raleigh company announced plans to build a 300-unit, $50 million apartment complex along Port City Marina between PPD’s headquarters and the Wilmington Convention Center.
Construction is expected to begin on the project, the Pier 33 Apartments, in the fall with completion about 16 months later, according to a news release from the developer, DeWitt Carolinas.
The six-story structure will include 32,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. The complex also will have a 700-space parking deck accessible from each residential and commercial floor.
